Decor is the work that happens after the furniture is in place, and it is the layer that decides whether a room feels finished or merely furnished. Unlike the other pages on this site, this one is not built around a single room, because the collection here is deliberately mixed: a dozen pieces that each solve a different problem in a different corner of the house. The groups below are reading groups rather than catalogue sections, and they are ordered by how much they change a room, from the wall inwards.
Mirrors and Artificial Plants
Greenery breaks up straight lines and adds a colour that furniture rarely carries. Artificial plants earn their place in the positions where living ones fail, which is to say a dark corner, a high shelf that nobody can water, a hallway with no daylight, or a household that travels. The convincing ones are the ones with variation in leaf tone and a little irregularity in the stems, and they are best placed slightly out of arm’s reach, where the eye reads the shape rather than the surface.

Garden Statues, Fountains and Greenery
Several pieces in this collection are made for outdoors and are often used indoors as well. Garden statues, including animal figures and taller aluminium sculptures, give a border or a lawn edge a fixed point to look at, which is what an otherwise even planting scheme usually lacks. Outdoor fountains add moving water and the sound that comes with it, and they need two things settled before purchase: a level base that will not shift as the ground softens, and a power supply within reach of the pump cable. Both types are finished for weather, and both benefit from being covered or brought inside through a hard frost.

Accent Tables and Storage
The last group hides things. An ottoman with a storage compartment and a lower rack works as a footstool, a seat, a shelf and a box at once, which is exactly the kind of overlap a small room needs. A tempered glass coffee table performs a related trick by taking up visual space without blocking the view across the floor. Neither is decor in the ornamental sense, but both change how a room looks more than an ornament does, because both remove the objects that were on the floor before.

Mirrors
A mirror is the single most effective object in a small room, because it borrows light and depth from whatever it faces. Round glam mirrors with a metal surround suit a hallway or a space above a console table, while a larger wall mirror can stand in for a window on an interior wall. The rule that matters is what the mirror reflects: hung opposite a window it doubles the daylight, hung opposite a cluttered shelf it doubles the clutter. Height is the other half of the decision, and a mirror centred a little above eye level serves a standing hallway better than one hung at seated height.
